Principal’s Report –
Successfully rescheduled APEX fundraiser – starting on Tuesday the 16th, staff huddle this Friday, glow run will take place 26th and 27th of February
                  $4,000 of federal funds to spend towards educational items
                  5th grade to attend the May 20th Clippers game!
Mrs. Barley requested a different assignment for her final year before retirement, surveys will go out to staff and families and then the hiring process will proceed, and the hope is that the next principal will be chosen prior to spring break.
                   
President’s Report –
Looking ahead to next year and building the community back up. Thinking about what will be valuable to families. Things like tailgating prior to football games, book exchange during read across America week. Would love ideas and input from others and discuss them at next month’s meeting.
PTO Shed – door is currently unable to be opened and needs to be assessed.

Grant Question – Grant request from Sarah Jacobs, asking if could be approved prior to April. $99.99 Whole school incentive, giant Kerplunk game. Great student behavior, student pulls the stick, all the marbles fall, and the whole school earns the reward! Mrs. Barley wants to approve the purchase with building funds, as to stick to the grant approval timeline set forth earlier this year.
Committee Reports
Game Night – Put a call out for volunteers, game night committee met 2.9.26, Kecia connecting with Romeo’s for the pizza as well as working on flyer. Alexis is doing raffle items and prizes. Golden good behavior ticket will be given out to kiddos and those can be entered for a free raffle ticket. Hopefully open doors at 6:15 and gaming starts at 6:30.
5th Grade Committee- Memory book – Meredith Nelson is doing it, kids have t-shirts, pool party is May 16th 8:15-10:15, Luncheon – should we let the kids vote on what to have, or just plan it out, consensus is to choose one restaurant and offer the kids 2 choices within, Stacy is doing posters, Apryl is doing posters, 5th grade ceremony is on the last day of school graduation is at 10am. Vicki is doing the programs, working on a legacy gift – ask the kids! 5th grade bin has gone missing, it included programs and such from the past to use for ideas for next year, people currently searching for it.
Teacher Appreciation Committee- Sign up for meals for conferences will be going out, and working on plans for spring for teacher appreciation, Nick and Martha will be doing Greaters sundae bar, Katie will work with the teacher event committee to help plan out week, planning for 60 staff

Principal’s Report –
Leadership Update – Mrs. Barley is out on FMLA through end of Dec. Mr. Bertrams is taking over and Tessa Erwin is helping fill in as well.
Donuts with Grownups – Jan. 23rd, 8-9am in the gym. Staff is providing donuts, water, and juice. Ariel secured a coffee truck, will be on back parking area and coffee will be available for purchase.
APEX – Shared with leadership and staff, 1st email has been sent to community, 2nd email will go out next week, pep rally is 2 weeks from today, Glow Run on 5th and 6th.
Richens Timms – Irish Step Dance, Friday March 13th they will do a 30 minute performance for the school. They are asking for a $125 donation for the event.
Safety Drill this Thursday, did actually have a lock down in Dec. for a staff medical emergency.
District Testing this week
Title 1 Compact – need to share out how the title 1 funds are spent, the compact was shared to caregivers in Dec. Funds spent on Muffins and Math days, used about 80%. Purchasing of some tech., and some funds left over may be used to purchase math manipulatives for the next years math curriculum.

APEX – PTO fundraiser in full swing. Works with kids in classroom on leadership, will hold a pep rally the week of the 26th, and work with kids for 2 weeks in classrooms leading up to the Glow Run. Glow Run is Feb 5th and 6th, everything is within the school day. Parents will receive emails to sponsor the kid similar to a walk a thon, sponsor per lap capping out at 42 laps. Looking for parent volunteers to help to count laps during Glow Run, will put out a sign up via social media.

President’s Report –
Donation drive is going great! 57.8 lbs 1st week, 2nd run 173.5 totaling 231.3! Last delivery will be this Friday 12.12.25.
Ashley and Katie A. attended Nov. PTO meeting. Middle school programs pathways recently approved.
APEX – Character development and leadership skills, they will have a pep rally and work with kids in each classroom and will be a fundraiser that cumulates as a Glow party with DJ on Feb. 5th and Feb. 6th. You can give a flat donation or a per lap donation, kids will run laps and you can donate per lap. Donations are all electronic, communication will be coming from APEX. APEX has asked for parent volunteers to help clock the laps. Max is 42 laps.
 
Next round of grant requests will be discussed in January. No requests have come through so far.
A parent inquired about the possibility of providing childcare during Parent-Teacher Conferences, noting that it could help more parents attend in-person meetings. Mrs. Barley explained that staffing limitations make it difficult to offer childcare; however, virtual conference options are available for all parents.

Ideas from Rep - Can be used for classroom support, PTO events, promotional products for profit ex. Classroom teacher taking group pics of kiddos at beginning and end of year and selling to parents.                   Great start to the school year!
All-day K is a success – Kids are tired, but inside the school is much calmer without mid-day dismissal and arrival.
Implementation of new ELA Resource (myView) is going well. K-5 program, keeping 95 Phonics for phonics portion.             
                  PAX Good Behavior Game continues to support student well-being and PEACE,                                PRODUCTIVITY, HEALTH, and HAPPINESS building wide.
President’s Report
Todd and Katie A. attended the district wide PTO meeting. Redistricting for the High Schools – proposed map will be released on Sept. 29th, and a public input session will be Sept. 29 at 6pm at Coffman and 7:30 at Jerome. Final maps will be public Nov. 10th at 6pm.
District communications team talked about how to use S’mores for emails and send out communications.
Back to school social was a great success with a huge turnout, and 15 – 20 kindergarteners showed up for kindergarten playdate!

Call Meeting to Order
Katie Ayers welcomed everyone and started meeting at 7:03.

• Principals Report – Mrs. Barley Principal's Update
  PAX Good Behavior Game
  Harmonicas! Evidence based to be shown to rise above the noise and grab peoples attention. 
  • Dr. Shatkin, M.D. (October 2024 Dublin Community Speaker and author of Born to Be Wild) stated PAX Good Behavior Game is the single most effective strategy to reduce mental health and behavioral risks for youth, adolescents and young adults
  • Significant % paid for by Alcohol Drug Addition and Mental Health (ADAMH) of Ohio
  • ALL staff attended training this summer
  • Significant gain in instructional time (1 - 2 hours/day)
  • ALL students (and staff)  benefit with significant decrease in future high-risk behaviors
  • Evidence-based…55+ years of longitudinal data proving its effectiveness
  • PAX views behavior as a skillset - both for children to acquire and for adults to teach
  • PAX = Peace * Productivity * Health * Happiness … in our learning spaces
  • PAX = Peace (Latin)
• Cell Phones
  State Law – cell phones are to be powered down and secured in backpacks curing the school day “Bell to Bell”
• Staff will model new DCS Board Policy
  “Wearables” are not included. However, please put your students’ devices in ‘school mode’
  Students should not contact caregivers during the school day without knowledge of staff 
• Anonymous Donor
  An OSE Family would like to cover the cost of school supplies; Words I Write; and the Kindergarten Journals for families in need. 

-Historically, much of the distribution occurs after school starts and office staff can keep a tally
-Back-to-School social: If a parent hesitates about the cost, give them Words I Write and/or the Kindergarten Journal with a book mark and say, “Don’t worry about payment this evening. The bookmark explains next steps.”.
    Bookmark: 
This book is a gift from an anonymous donor who wishes your child much success in the 2025-2026 school year. There is no need for you to submit payment.  (Translations in Arabic and Spanish)

       Snow cones ready to go, cost is $92.90
Cub scouts have a table, music will be provided, PTO has table with supplies, Aramark has table, Ariel Kaufman suggests to have a qr code at PTO table for the PTO FB page Ariel will be promoting the Mums sale during B2S
    Friendship Guide/One Form – Katie
Friendship guide will be printed this year for all, Friendship Guide drawing contest will be sent home at beginning of year. One Form will be sent home at beginning of year and is also on PTO website.
    Spirit Wear – Craig
        Currently looking for a new supplier.
School Supplies – Katie
Delivered to school today, Katie Ayers will go to the school to help distribute the boxes to the correct classrooms this week.
Mums Sale – Ashley/Ariel
    Sign up sheets, lollipops for the kiddos to get them excited to sell, drawings 
for kids who are selling twice a week during th/e sale period

Adjustment to Grant Deadlines, Katie Ayers proposes to change bylaws for Unbudgeted Items – regarding the PTO grant request form, current bylaw is the a grant application is due 3 weeks prior to board meeting, would like to update the grant request will be considered on a quarterly basis 9/30 12/30 and 3/30 would be new deadlines. This allows the board to have a better look holistically at grant requests and be able to give more consideration each request. Grants under $250 are still able to be approved by the PTO executive board without
