Welcome, Introductions, Meeting Details
President, Ben Opperman welcomed everyone to the May 2023, 2023 PTO Meeting.
Ben Opperman called the May 2023 OSE PTO meeting to order at 7:02 PM.

Principal’s Report:
○ Penny Harvest- Update from Mrs. Williams
“We had an AMAZING field trip where students presented our service-learning project,
created homeless kits, and accepted the Lincoln Leadership Award, as well as an award
for Olde Sawmill's participation in service learning for the past 10 years. I am SO proud
of our student leaders!”
○ Staff Appreciation Week- thank you so much for all that you have already done to help
recognize and celebrate our amazing OSE staff!
○ Dodgeball Tournament
As you arrive at the Dodgeball Tournament, please consider bringing an item or two from
the list of most needed items below.
Essentials:
• Individual Toothbrushes
• Feminine Pads
• Diapers (Larger Sizes)/Baby Wipes
• Laundry Detergent
• Deodorant, Shampoo
• Plastic Grocery Bags
Food:
• Condensed Soup
• Oatmeal Packets

○ Elementary School Dismissal is 12:25
○ There will be no Kindergarten or ELI that day.
○ Lunch is served according to an individual building’s schedule.
○ The only lunch option is grab and go, students will not eat at school

Expense Changes:
- Reimbursements for teacher funds.
- Receipts entered for Staff Appreciation
- Shared Concessions for paper plates and other items needed for Family Breakfast and Kg
Musical
-Family Breakfast came in just under budget at $472.29
- Field Day we have paid for the inflatables, water, cups, fun pops, and games. We have spent
$2,286.56.
- 5th grade memory books have been paid for at $525.00
- Our website domain has been renewed for $19.9
Revenue Changes:
- Spring flowers $4,145.00 has been deposited and the final receipts for prizes entered (Except
for the Pizza Party)
- Rewards from Amazon Smiles deposited $27.10
- School Store deposits totaling $470.40
Grant Approval/Payments
- Cub Scouts - no receipts have been submitted yet.
- Multicultural - no receipts have been submitted yet.

- Spirit Wear - $400 toward purchasing the sweatpants
- Staff Appreciation - has a remainder of $22.77

New Grant –
o Rhonda Hanks is requesting a grant for a total of $500 to be able to buy school supplies for
students who are unable to purchase them. She is in need all year long.
o Discussed the timing inside this fiscal year would not be able to spend. Suggested to re-
purpose at start of next year. Also purposed school drive or
o Motion by Ashley Oliver to deny grant request
o Motion 2 nd by Jennifer Reardon
o Called to vote, and passed by all in attendance
Shed Repairs
o Shed is in poor condition, Martha made a motion to approve $500 for shed repairs

This Thursday final pack meeting where scouts will earn badge ranks
Will have rocket launch as a recruiting event
Teacher Appreciation – Daniela Gilliam
Wanted to do a cookout, and the grill was in bad shape
The grill has been refurbished and will fire up and cook for the staff
