PTO Minutes-January 10th, 2023
Welcome, Introductions, Meeting Details
President, Ben Opperman welcomed everyone to the January 10th, 2023 PTO Meeting.
Ben Opperman called the January 2023 OSE PTO meeting to order at 7:01 PM.
Attendance
  • Ben Opperman, Mike Castro, Ashley Oliver,
  • Mike Gilliam, Brittany Saffell, Martha Barley, Kecia Cropper
Principal’s Report:
  • Thank you for the CHOose Happy Tumblers
  • Possible artist in the school-New Basics Brass Band
    • Tentative April 6th, 2:45 pm-3:15 pm
  • Bloomz-Martha & Brittany created a timeline summary of issues; Martha drafted a full-refund request letter
  • PJ’s and Pancakes (no gr 3 performance)
  • High School Musical
    • Jerome: Shrek the musical-March 9th and 10th
    • Coffman One: Acts Late April/Early April
  • Kindergarten Musical May 2nd, 2023, 6:30 pm or 7:00 pm
  • Community Champions
    • Nominations-Through February 20th 2023
    • Ceremony-April 22nd 2023

  • Tumbler’s-OSE Staff
    • Ashley Oliver made a motion for distribution of reminder cups
      • 10 to OSE for future use
      • Remainder to those serving on committee chairs and executive functions

  • Approval of November 2022 minutes

Treasurer Report: (Activity from Nov & Dec)
Expense Changes:
  • Reimbursements for teacher funds.
  • Reimbursements for Room parents for Harvest Parties.
  • $.50 bank service fee
  • Receipts entered for shared Concessions for full day volunteer lunches
Revenue Changes:
  • Holiday Shop - all deposits and receipts have been recorded. Deposit from sales was $6,622.50 making a total profit of $3,477.73
  • Rewards Programs - Kroger $455.26, Amazon $33.78, and Box Tops $21.70
  • Columbus Blue Jackets Deposit of $190 came in
  • Spirit Wear - paid for the staff jackets total of $360.00

  • Staff Appreciation receipts for grant have been added and they came in under budget by $214.63

  • Cub Scouts: Had a committee meeting asked to request a timer for the Pinewood Derby Race
    • Kecia Cropper makes a motion to cover the full cost of pinewood derby timer. Estimated cost about $700

Updates:
  • Spirit Wear: Entry forms for the spirt wear design
  • Flower Sale: Working with company on setting up spring sale
  • 5th Grade Committee: In process of planning
  • Restaurant Week: Considering McAlister’s Dinner Feb, March is Chipotle, Still working for other options for the reminder of the year
  • Rewards: No Updates
  • Holiday Shop: Need to find committee chair for next year
    • If there is not a committee chair located by end of the school year will need to find somewhere to store
  • School Supply: Restocked today, depositing for today over $100
  • School Store: No Updates
  • Bricks: No Updates, will send out new order form for spring break time.  Could not do over summer with the equipment
  • Membership/Friendship Guide: Went out just before holiday break
  • Shoe Drive:  X
  • Spirit Week: Had a week before the holidays, will have another one before spring break
  • Room Parents: X
  • Cub Scouts: November meeting had a couple of Veterans join, sold $26,000 in popcorn had pizza party and pie in the face.  Upcoming events pack is having an outing at Motts Military Museum.  Starting to plan pinewood derby for Feb 10th.  End of February the 5th grades will have arrow of light ceremony and crossover to Scouts. Feb 25th is the blue jackets Simon Kenton Scout Event
  • Teacher Appreciation: None
  • Family Game Night: Planned for 2/10, adding some visual.  Need to edit the request to add audio if possible (will bring a portable speaker as a backup plan).  Discussed adding food and drink, looking at having a raffle.   
  • Clover Run: Looking to create an event, looking for summer tech shirts, looking at May for the event
